SUMMER DANCE! Classes in dance technique, music theory, art history, stage management, costume design, and health education Exploration, exercise, and excitement oh my!... Embark on a magical journey of movement, fun, excitement, and dance with Benicia Ballet Theatre’s Summer Programs. BBT offers a summer program for young children and an advanced summer intensive for our teens to adult dancers, concluding with a summer collaboration production with Live Music accompaniment.
Benicia Ballet Theatre is proud to offer its fifth-annual pre-professional summer intensive for the intermediate and advanced student. BBT welcomes students from all ballet schools and prides itself on providing serious dancers a local, affordable, high quality program. Classes offer a rigorous training schedule and include ballet, pointe/pre-pointe, variations, repertoire, modern, yoga, pilates, and cultural dance. Instructors to be determined. Prior intensives have offered classes from professionals from Oakland Ballet and AXIS Dance Company. Designed for advanced dancers ages 11-18, a dance resume is required. For more information please contact summer intensive program director Erika Moore Evearitt at or 415-857-5310.
SUMMER CAMP & WORKSHOP
As part of its Outreach Program, Benicia Ballet Theatre offers a yearly two-week Summer Dance Workshop and Production.
It's not just ballet! BBT's summer programs explore all dance styles with a focus on proper technique and dancer health, including anatomy and nutrition. Participants also explore topics such as dance history, art history, stage management, costume design and music as well.
Each two week program ends in a performance opportunity for the dancer and a free performance for community members to attend. These performances also collaborate with local musicians who accompany the dancers with live music. It is truly a unique experience for the Workshop participants.
Registration for our summer camps will be taken until classes are full.

Summer Programs at BBT are dependent on partial funding from financial grants. Recent years have been funded in part by grants from the City of Benicia under its Arts and Culture Commission. The BACC recognizes BBT's strong program, which offers to the local community the opportunity to explore dance as an art form.
BBT is proud to offer a professionally staged program that is free for community members to attend who that may not otherwise have the opportunity to view such a performance arts program. Donations are appreciated.
